I saw the movie Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. This movie stars Amanda Seyfried (Veronica Mars), Dominic Cooper (Captain America: The First Avenger), Lily James (Pride & Prejudice & Zombies), Pierce Brosnan (Mrs. Doubtfire), Jeremy Irvine (Fallen), and Colin Firth (Bridget Jones's Diary).
Five years after the events of the first movie, Sophie prepares for the grand reopening of the Hotel Bella Donna as she learns more about her mother's past.
I give this movie 3 out of 5 stars. Watch the credits.
While this movie was nowhere near as good as the first film, it did have its moments. Colin Firth is a comedic genius, as per usual.
While watching this movie I noticed that the younger version of the male characters lost their accents very quickly.
Fun Facts:
-Released a decade to the month after the first movie, Mamma Mia! (2008).
-Meryl Streep and Lily James, the two actresses portraying Donna, are distant relatives - ninth cousins, three times removed to be precise.
-Cher is only 3 years older than Meryl Streep, despite them playing mother and daughter in this movie.
-Donna finds out she is pregnant in 1979, and the birth of Sophie as 1980, which sets Mamma Mia! around 2000, as Sophie is 20. The movie is set 5 years after the first film, which would make this 2005.
